Barrow and Districts Society for the Blind - Information about the 'Blind Shop' in Barrow, and the society's residential home Ostley House.

Carlisle People First - A group which is run by and for people who are labelled as having a learning difficulty. They provide self, citizen and crisis advocacy and also a circles of support scheme throughout North East Cumbria.

West House, Cockermouth - A charitable organisation providing a range of community based support services to people with learning disabilities living in West Cumbria.

The Oaklea Trust - A charitable organisation which is dedicated to providing services for people with learning disabilities and other associated disabilities.

North Cumbria Dyslexia Association - Local affiliate of British Dyslexia Association offers information about their membership, activities and events; includes a newsletter.
