Institute for Arable Crops Research (IACR) - IACR research seeks to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of UK crop production, and to enhance the quality and marketability of our arable commodities - goals to be achieved by agricultural practices displaying a greater sympathy for environmental considerations.

Institute for Animal Health (IAH) - IAH is a world centre for research and training in fundamental, strategic and applied research on infectious diseases of farm animals.

The Babraham Institute - The Babraham Institute carries out research and advanced training with relevance to the biomedical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical and healthcare research and user communities.

Institute of Food Research (IFR) - The Institute of Food Research (IFR) undertakes independent basic and strategic research for improved food and health.

John Innes Centre (JIC) - JIC undertakes research aimed at understanding the genome organisation and function of plants and some key microbes, the genetic and cellular basis of growth and development, key molecular pathways and valuable products and the molecular basis of plant disease and its control.

Silsoe Research Institute ( SRI ) - SRI provides expertise in the engineering and physical sciences and mathematics to support the agri-food industries.

Roslin Institute - The Roslin Institute concentrates on UK farm animal science research, combining the advances in molecular and cellular biology to develop new scientific opportunities in biotechnology, animal production, breeding and welfare.
