Clinical Governance Research and Development Unit - Resource for GP practices, Primary Care Groups and Health Authorities. Based within the Dept of General Practice, Leicester University. TOXBASE - Online database of the National Poisons Information Service. Access restricted to registered users, such as general practitioners and hospital departments.

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers - Information, advice and support for carers. The Trust's has network of approximately a hundred Carers Centres in the UK.

Public Health Laboratory Service - Official body (England and Wales) for detecting, diagnosing, and monitoring infectious diseases. Statistics and fact sheets available.

OMNI: Organising Medical Networked Information - Collection of quality assessed Internet resources in medicine and related sciences. Comprehensive database with search facilities.

The MedWeb - Medical engineering directory with news and links.

Wisdom Project - Networked learning in the new NHS. For primary health care. Developed from a project commissioned by the NHS executive. Excellent library of resources. Mailing lists.

CESDI - Confidential Enquiries into Stillbirths and Infant Deaths - Annual reports available in PDF format. Bound copies can be ordered. Information on post mortems for patients and professionals.

South Devon Health Libraries - Provides access to databases, patient information leaflets, local and national guidelines and useful links. Some parts are password restricted.
