North Atlantic Fisheries College - Industry-managed institute dedicated to supporting the fisheries industry (fish catching, aquaculture and processing) through training, and research and development. Based in Scalloway.

Fair Isle School - A one teacher school situated on Fair Isle, south of Shetland.

Lunnasting Primary School - Newly rebuilt school in Vidlin, north-east Mainland.

Hamnavoe Primary School - Situated on Burra Isle, west of the Mainland. The school provides education for children between the ages of 5 and 11. Also offers a playgroup.

Mid Yell Junior High School - Site designed largely by the pupils for a school on the island of Yell (part of the Shetland Isles).

Baltasound Junior High School - The most northerly school in Britain. The School provides Primary education for the village of Baltasound, and Secondary education for children from the districts of Baltasound, Uyeasound and Haroldswick.
